25th International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics

Milano will have the privilege of hosting the 25th International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (25th ICTAM) from 22 to 27 August 2021.

This edition will follow the 24th ICTAM held in Montreal in August 2016.

The 25th ICTAM was initially scheduled from 23 to 28 August 2020. Due to the covid-19 pandemia, the Organizing Committee, together with the Executive Congress Committee and the President of IUTAM, decided to postpone this important event of one year. This decision was considered the most reasonable and the only option available in order to organize an ICTAM Congress in line with the tradition.

The 25th ICTAM will be hosted in the Milano Congressi (MiCo) center, located nearby the brand new neighborhood of Milano called CityLife, which comprises a large shopping district, three new tall buildings designed by the renowned archistars Zaha Hadid, Arata Isozaki and Daniel Libeskind, a public park and several luxury residential buildings. MiCo is not far from the town center and is optimally served by underground and surface public transports. Numerous hotel rooms and dormitories have been secured within walking distance or few minutes public transport from MiCo.

MECHATRONICS DAY of the Institute of Mechanics and Mechatronics, TU Wien (15.11.2019)

Machines and systems that adapt flexibly and automatically to changing operating conditions and user requirements have become indispensable in many areas today. Most modern systems also require the ability to predict: mechatronics makes an essential contribution to all of this, and this year's Mechatronics Day is intended to once again present the comprehensive relationships between basic research at our institute and industrial applications, as expressed in the numerous collaborations with companies, to a broad circle of interested parties.
